His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, met with the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of South Korea, Mr.Won Hee-ryong, as part of His Excellency’s Asian tour, which began in the Korean capital, Seoul.
The two sides discussed frameworks for enhancing cooperation between the two friendly countries in the municipal, housing and smart cities sectors, and the importance of working in accordance with the provisions of the executive program, and exchanging experiences in a way that serves the directions of the two countries and fulfills the aspirations of their friendly peoples, given the great natural, technological and human resources they possess, which have made them among the countries that achieve high growth rates.
His Excellency Minister Al-Haqil praised the remarkable development of relations between the two friendly countries, the cooperation that includes all fields, and the benefit that has been reflected in the establishment of strategic alliances and partnerships between them.
Al-Haqil and the Korean Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport inaugurated the first Saudi-Korean Housing Cooperation Forum. During his speech on this occasion, Al-Haqil expressed his pride and happiness at attending the forum, adding that the wise leadership in the Kingdom is focusing at this stage on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the government’s role, in addition to developing a spirit of social responsibility. As for the external level, cooperation with friendly countries stands out to develop and diversify the resources of the economy and enhance employment opportunities.
His Excellency concluded his speech by saying: I hope that the first Saudi-Korean Housing Cooperation Forum will help both sides develop a common understanding of the national vision, government policies, infrastructure and municipal projects.
The Undersecretary for Digital Transformation at the Ministry, Eng. Ali Rajhi, the Undersecretary for Real Estate Development, Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Tawil, and the Executive Vice President of the National Housing Company, Rayan Al-Aql, reviewed the Saudi experiences in the field of housing, municipalities, the smart cities sector, and digital transformation, and the latest achievements of the Ministry in these areas.
