His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, revealed that the investment opportunities available to the “Al-Ahsa Municipality” on the “Opportunities” portal reached 362 opportunities in 2021, an increase of up to 53% compared to 2020, with a total value exceeding 275 million riyals, noting that the investment opportunities available to “Al-Ahsa” this year reached 112 investment opportunities.
This came during His Excellency’s participation in the Municipal Investment Forum organized by the “Al-Ahsa Municipality”, under the generous patronage of the Governor of the Eastern Province, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, noting the attractive factors for investment that Al-Ahsa has, and its distinctive infrastructure of an airport, train and roads connecting it to various vital areas inside and outside the Kingdom, in addition to the nature of the region and its agricultural wealth. Al-Ahsa also has a promising future in the Al-Jafurah region due to its natural resources.
Al-Haqil explained that the investment opportunities currently available on the “Furs” portal for various regions of the Kingdom exceed 2,400 diverse opportunities, including investment competitions and leasing opportunities in various available activities. These can be competed for in easy and automated ways through the Furs portal, which brings together more than 25,000 investors. The platform has previously offered more than 23,000 investment opportunities.
His Excellency noted that there is an advisory committee for investment in the municipal sector that includes a select group of private sector representatives, to benefit from their expertise in developing the investment system and attracting investors to achieve the development goals of Saudi cities. He pointed out that the investment opportunities available in the cities and governorates of the Kingdom are presented through the municipal investment platform “Furs” and the ministry’s accounts on social media. Investment opportunities are also reviewed through holding local, regional and international forums and exhibitions specializing in investment.
His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing praised the joint collective work between all government sectors and the concerted efforts to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and raise the quality of life and services provided in Saudi cities, stressing that the municipal and housing sector plays a vital and enabling role for economic activities within the goals of developing municipal investments.
