His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, met with the Japanese Minister of State for Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Mr. Toyoda Toshiro, in the capital, Tokyo.
The two sides discussed prospects for joint cooperation in the municipal, housing and smart cities sector, and how to benefit from the experiences of both countries in this field, and exchange expertise, in addition to discussing topics of common interest. The minister and his accompanying delegation were also invited to take a tour of the Crisis and Disaster Control Center and participate in Expo 2027. Minister Al-Haqil invited the Japanese side to visit the Kingdom and see the development it is witnessing in all fields.
During the visit, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in Japan, in the field of housing, which will result in the exchange of experiences and successful practices in this field, in addition to strengthening cooperation through it, in a way that benefits the two friendly countries.
It is worth mentioning that Japan is the second stop on the Asian tour of His Excellency Minister Al-Haqil, during which he met with a number of government officials and leaders from the private sector to learn about their experiences in the service sectors.
