The “Afaq Al Safa” residential scheme, located in Unaizah Governorate, is witnessing a high level of construction activity by the beneficiary citizens, after receiving their land through the “Sakani” program of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing. The distinctive location of the scheme and the completion of infrastructure works and service sites contributed to its being fully reserved within days of its launch, which helped in the rapid start of construction work for the residential units after the completion of signing housing support contracts and obtaining the building permit.

The “Afaq Al Safa” scheme is located northeast of Unaizah Governorate. The total area of the scheme is more than 1.2 million m2, and it provides 1108 residential plots with an average area of 500 m2 per plot. It is considered an ideal model for integrated residential schemes, as it includes areas designated for public gardens, in addition to sites for commercial services and public facilities.

The “Sakani” program, through its application and electronic platform, enabled beneficiaries of residential lands in all regions of the Kingdom to choose the appropriate residential plan according to their desires and needs, as part of the ongoing effort to create electronic solutions that facilitate procedures for eligible citizens and provide more electronic services, such as choosing model designs in partnership with a select group of Saudi architectural designers through the “Sakani” platform.

The beneficiary registered in the Sakani program can visit the program’s electronic portal, then select “Housing Solutions,” and then click on the residential land option, or directly access the linkhttps://sakani.housing.sa/plans-map, select the appropriate plan, choose the land plot, and complete the contract signing procedures electronically, in preparation for starting to issue building permits within 6 months and building within 3 years.

These steps come as part of providing more options for Saudi families to enable them to obtain suitable housing that meets their needs, thereby raising the homeownership rate to 70% by 2030, in accordance with the objectives of the Housing Program - one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
