The Future Real Estate Forum kicks off in Riyadh, witnessing the signing of agreements worth more than 10 billion riyals.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, inaugurated today the second edition of the Future Real Estate Forum, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr bin Saud, Governor of Al-Ahsa, and a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers, and senior officials in a number of government agencies and the private sector .

During the ceremony held on this occasion, His Excellency delivered a speech in which he welcomed Their Highnesses, Excellencies, specialists, and those interested in real estate affairs, explaining that the real estate sector enjoys unlimited support from the wise leadership, as it is one of the pillars of the national economy, as the state - may God protect it - has been keen to organize and develop it, improve the mechanisms of supervision over it, raise its efficiency, encourage investment in it, and enable it to increase its contribution to the gross domestic product.

Professor Al-Haqeel explained that the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, and the General Authority for Real Estate, dedicated their efforts to organizing this forum out of their belief in the strategic role and the goals that are hoped to be achieved, as the Future of Real Estate Forum was planned to be an intellectual, scientific and strategic gathering and a global platform to discuss the reality and future of the real estate sector in the Kingdom.

He explained that the convening of the Future Real Estate Forum coincides with the commencement of the implementation of the Real Estate Brokerage System, which is one of the most prominent enablers for developing and governing the real estate sector, digitizing its operations, and serving beneficiaries, so that the real estate sector in the Kingdom becomes vibrant, attractive, and a catalyst for investment due to the presence of reliability and transparency in all real estate activities.

He stated that real estate registration is one of the main priorities of the comprehensive strategy for the real estate sector, and is directly related to the reliability of the real estate sector and its investment attractiveness. He noted that last year, 2022, witnessed radical developments and qualitative transformations, the first of which was the existence of a single reference authority for real estate registration, which is the General Authority for Real Estate, in addition to the issuance of the Real Estate Registration System and its executive regulations.

His Excellency discussed the first edition of the Future Real Estate Forum in 2022, including the attention and focus on the axis of alignment and integration between government agencies and the public and private real estate development system and anticipating the future of real estate, noting that the forum’s themes were of a local nature, and this year the plan was to make the forum of a local, regional and global nature that focuses on local enablers and global aspirations.

He explained that this year’s Future Real Estate Forum addresses (10) strategic themes, the most important of which are: the role of emirates, governorates, ministries and secretariats in aligning to enable the real estate sector, regional efforts and their impact on the growth of the real estate sector in the region, the future of real estate investment, real estate regulations between implementation and oversight, and the private sector between regulations and empowerment in the real estate sector. He noted that the forum invited more than (150) speakers, foremost among them being Their Royal Highnesses the Princes of the regions, Their Excellencies the Ministers, Deputy Ministers and senior officials in ministries and government agencies, real estate experts and representatives of several real estate bodies, companies and institutions, and personalities and guests, from inside and outside the Kingdom. It is accompanied by an exhibition with (60) participating pavilions.

His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, and His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, witnessed the signing of memoranda of cooperation and agreements worth more than 10 billion riyals in the field of real estate development and building technologies, and the establishment of 4 investment funds to develop commercial, tourism and residential projects, and the development of housing units.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, inaugurated the exhibition accompanying the second edition of the Future Real Estate Forum.

His Excellency toured the exhibition, where participants from major real estate development, marketing and housing companies, most Saudi financing agencies and banks, and relevant government agencies presented an overview of their participation.

It is worth mentioning that the second edition of the Future Real Estate Forum lasts for three days, with the participation of more than 30 countries and 100 speakers representing the public and private sectors, in addition to the participation of an elite group of economists, investors, decision-makers and experts in the real estate sector system, locally and globally, and its work includes a number of sessions and workshops, through which several topics covering the present and future of real estate are discussed.
