His Excellency also sponsored, within the activities of the exhibition, the signing of 7 agreements between the Real Estate Development Agency of the Ministry and a number of real estate development companies, and the launch of 5 real estate funds that provide about 5,000 housing units.

During his speech on this occasion, Al-Haqil expressed his happiness with this event, which is a distinctive and qualitative addition to the social and economic development work in the Kingdom, with broad participation from the partners in success in the real estate sector, in an event that keeps pace with the economic and social renaissance that the Kingdom is experiencing, in an effort to achieve the objectives of the housing program by reaching a homeownership rate of 70%.

His Excellency affirmed that the wise leadership, represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect them - provides great support and continuous follow-up to the real estate sector, overcoming all the difficulties facing the sector, so that it can play its role in social and economic development, and become a qualitative sector in its dealings and services, linked to multiple factors in sustainable development.

Al-Haqil explained that the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing has worked through numerous regulations and programs to enhance the role of the real estate sector, as it is one of the most important sectors contributing to the gross domestic product and one of the most prominent pillars of economic development for countries. This is in addition to supporting and regulating the housing sector, raising supply rates, and achieving optimal balance in the local market, in order to fulfill the aspirations and desires of Saudi families. He noted that the capital, Riyadh, is about to undergo major changes that will make it one of the fastest-growing cities economically and socially. Therefore, the Ministry is making great efforts to increase the supply of new residential units and land to contribute significantly to meeting current and future housing demand by 2030. He pointed out that the new housing supply in Riyadh during 2021 reached approximately 61,300 housing units, while the Sakani program served more than 100,000 beneficiaries in Riyadh during the period (2018 until the beginning of 2022).

His Excellency explained during his speech that the number of factories linked to the real estate sector increased by (31%) of the total number of factories in the Kingdom by the end of the third quarter of 2021, and the percentage of capital participation of factories linked to the real estate sector reached (28%) of the total capital of factories in the Kingdom during the same period. He also pointed out that the Ministry’s sponsorship of the Housing Real Estate Exhibition comes as a confirmation of the importance of the sector and its support in a way that serves citizens, as it contributes to achieving housing objectives and empowering the entities working in this sector.

It is worth mentioning that the Maskan Real Estate Exhibition showcases, over four days, the best options and solutions for beneficiaries through financing offers from banks and financing entities, in order to facilitate home ownership procedures and provide solutions and products to enable citizens to own homes and increase the real estate supply, especially in the city of Riyadh. The exhibition also witnessed the signing of a number of partnerships and agreements in the real estate development sector.
