Ministry of Municipalities and Housing: More than 1.6 million inspection tours were carried out by regional secretariats during the first quarter of 2026

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the regional secretariats, revealed that it carried out more than 1.6 million inspection tours during the first quarter of 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance compliance, improve the quality of municipal services, enhance the urban landscape, and protect public health in various cities and governorates of the Kingdom .

The ministry explained that the inspection tours included a number of field and regulatory tracks, including monitoring (public health, markets, visual pollution, buildings, collective housing, excavations, encroachments on lands, commercial activities, and contractor classification), reflecting the comprehensiveness and integration of the inspection roles in supporting the quality of life and raising the efficiency of cities .

She indicated that March recorded the highest number of inspection tours during the first quarter with 596,000 tours, compared to more than 562,000 tours in February, and more than 526,000 tours in January, which confirms the increasing pace of field work and raising the level of inspection readiness continuously .

The ministry indicated that the distribution of inspection tours to the municipalities showed extensive field efforts in various regions of the Kingdom, stressing that these efforts come as an extension of a modern inspection methodology based on smart monitoring, raising compliance before penalty, and integrating field work with operational data and indicators, which contributes to the speed of addressing observations, improving the experience of beneficiaries, enhancing the efficiency of municipal and housing services, and raising the level of satisfaction of residents and visitors .

She added that the inspection tours contribute to reducing violations, regulating commercial activities, addressing visual distortions, ensuring public health and safety requirements, in addition to protecting public facilities and monitoring construction and excavation work, which supports the sustainability of urban development and enhances the attractiveness of Saudi cities .

The ministry stressed the continued intensification of inspection tours in all regions, utilizing modern technologies and qualified field personnel, as part of ongoing efforts to build higher quality and more efficient cities, and to establish organized, safe and sustainable urban environments.
