The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced the completion of the readiness of the field services system in the holy sites within its operational plan for the Hajj season of 1447 AH, through an integrated system aimed at enhancing the speed of response and raising the efficiency of operation in high-density locations.
The ministry explained that the plan included operating 66 service centers, including 28 centers within the holy sites, which operate as field support and operation centers that contribute to enhancing the continuity of service and increasing the speed of dealing with field reports and observations.
She explained that the preparation work included preparing public facilities, operational headquarters and logistical support sites, which enhances the readiness of field teams in various vital locations within the holy sites. The work also included the implementation and equipping of 20 pedestrian bridges and 18 tunnels, in addition to developing roads and squares surrounding the movement routes, which contributes to supporting the smooth movement of crowds and raising the efficiency of movement during the season.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced, as part of its operational plans for the Hajj season of 1447 AH, the implementation of more than 11 million linear meters of roads, and the treatment and development of approximately 74 million square meters of road surfaces, in addition to raising the readiness of 123 bridges and 44 tunnels for pedestrians and vehicles, and preparing 62 additional tunnels within the movement and transportation system in the holy sites, as well as operating more than 330,000 lighting units and 150,000 lighting poles in Makkah and the holy sites, which enhances the efficiency of movement and raises the levels of safety and services provided to the guests of God.
The Ministry, represented by the regional secretariats, also prepared more than 4,500 male and female volunteers within the municipal volunteering system to participate in serving the guests of God in vital locations, ports and roads leading to the holy sites, in support of operational and service efforts during the season.
