The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing confirmed that the Emergency and Crisis Center operates within an integrated operational system to manage reports and emergencies during the Hajj season of 1447 AH, through coordination and procedural mechanisms aimed at enhancing the speed of response and raising the efficiency of field readiness in the holy sites through the Emerg platform (the unified platform for the emergency and crisis system), which won an award among the top 3 global platforms for smart cities.
The ministry explained that the center is responsible for organizing and operating emergency rooms, monitoring the readiness of field centers, ensuring that communication data is updated and inventorying mechanisms and equipment is maintained, in addition to monitoring shift plans and continuous coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the continuity of operational work during the season in real time via the platform.
She explained that the center’s work system includes an integrated operational cycle for dealing with reports, starting from receiving the alert and assessing the emergency situation, through activating the center and informing the relevant leaders, up to implementing emergency plans and monitoring the situation until full recovery and return to normal in a fully automated manner to ensure increased readiness and rapid response.
The ministry indicated that the center submits periodic and daily reports on reports and emergencies in coordination with the Holy Capital Municipality and the Madinah Municipality, which contributes to providing an instant operational picture that supports the speed of decision-making and raises the efficiency of response during the season.
The ministry also confirmed that the emergency management system is linked to the “Samid” platform to pass emergency reports to the National Risk Council, within the framework of integration with the national system for crisis and emergency management, which enhances institutional readiness and coordination between the various entities involved in serving the pilgrims during the Hajj season.
