Ministry of Municipalities and Housing: Field staff serving every 76 pilgrims in the holy sites

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced its operational readiness for the Hajj season of 1447 AH through an integrated service and field system in the holy sites, supported by more than 22,000 field staff working to serve the pilgrims at a rate of one staff for every 76 pilgrims, in addition to a wide infrastructure and operational mechanisms working around the clock, with the aim of enhancing the quality of services provided to the guests of God and raising the efficiency of response and health and environmental monitoring during the season .

The ministry explained that the total area of infrastructure in the holy sites exceeded 4.6 million square meters, including roads, lighting, bridges, tunnels and flood channels, in addition to 20 bridges and 18 tunnels that contribute to supporting traffic flow and the smooth movement of pilgrims between different locations .

In terms of hygiene and environmental sanitation, the Ministry activated more than 88,000 cleaning units, supported by 3,000 field vehicles and equipment, in addition to 1,235 compactor units and 113 ground storage facilities supporting operational processes, which enhances the efficiency of waste management and maintains a healthy environment within the holy sites .

As part of its health and food safety oversight efforts, the Ministry has activated 66 service centers, in addition to five advanced laboratories for conducting daily tests and analyses. Furthermore, inspection teams carry out more than 2,800 field visits daily, analyzing approximately 1,300 laboratory samples daily, building on the success of last season, which recorded zero confirmed cases of food poisoning .

In the field reporting and response system, the operational teams receive and process about 30,000 reports through the “Baladi” platform and its associated channels. The system also recorded an average response time of only 1 minute and 13 seconds, indicating the efficiency of performance and speed in dealing with field cases and observations, in addition to preparing two shelter and emergency centers within the season’s readiness plans .

The ministry affirmed that these efforts are part of an integrated system of municipal and operational services aimed at improving the pilgrims’ experience and achieving the highest standards of safety, health and quality of life in the holy sites during the Hajj season .
