To support the strategic program for smart business and data transformation
The Ministry of Municipality and Housing and the Ministry of Digital Government sign an agreement to adopt "Baladi" as a joint sectoral platform.
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and the Digital Government Authority signed a framework agreement to support and enable the strategic program for smart transformation in business and data, which includes activating the adoption of the “Baladi” platform as a joint sectoral platform for providing digital municipal services at the level of the Kingdom, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, and His Excellency the Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Engineer Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Suwayan.
The Ministry was represented in signing the agreement by the Undersecretary for Digital Transformation and Smart Cities, Engineer Ali bin Hadi Rajhi, while the Authority was represented in signing by the Deputy Governor for Business and Digital Transformation, Engineer Yasser bin Faleh Al-Shammari.
This agreement translates the shared aspirations and visions aimed at enhancing digital transformation in the municipal sector and raising the quality of services provided, to achieve a number of objectives that include raising the level of digital maturity of the sector’s customer services on a shared platform (Baladi platform), to provide digital services that take into account the requirements and needs of customers, which will reflect on the efficiency of spending and rationalization of digital business with the regional secretariats.
Under the agreement, the Authority will provide support to the Ministry in several work paths, including supporting the development of digital municipal services, unifying data and communications centers, and the digital experience program, where the adoption of the “Baladi” platform as a sectoral platform was activated by the Digital Government Authority, under which work is done to govern the various applications and domains of the sector at the level of the Kingdom. The Authority will also provide support, knowledge empowerment and consultation in digital transformation, and implement the “Digital Experience” program with the Ministry and the Secretariats as a pilot launch.
The framework agreement is part of the innovative efforts in the digital development process witnessed by the municipal sector in all fields, in accordance with a sustainable digital system, to contribute to achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 through several services that contribute to raising the quality of life.
