The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, represented by the General Directorate of Technical and Operational Review at the Internal Audit Agency and the provisions of the regulatory controls, and with the participation of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, today conducted a workshop entitled (Strengthening Control, Transparency and Disclosure Systems) at the headquarters of the Taif Governorate Secretariat, in the presence of a number of specialists.
This comes as an extension of the ongoing cooperation between the Ministry and Nazaha to combat corruption and raise awareness of its dangers by protecting integrity, promoting transparency, and strengthening internal control systems. The Ministry and Nazaha aim to implement several similar workshops at the level of affiliated secretariats and municipalities, within the framework of the Ministry’s endeavor to increase awareness of the dangers of corruption, promote the values of integrity, and strengthen religious conscience and national belonging.
The workshop included two main themes. The first, entitled “Control and Enhance Oversight in Projects,” was presented by the Director General of Technical and Operational Auditing at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Engineer Khalid Al-Zahrani. The second theme, entitled “Disclosure, Transparency and Conflict of Interest,” was presented by the Administrative Supervisor at the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, Naif bin Wadiyan Al-Qurashi.
It is worth mentioning that the ministry is working to achieve advanced levels in the field of combating corruption and promoting transparency and integrity, reaching an advanced level of awareness of the effects of corruption on society, promoting sustainable local development and achieving progress, and dealing with the state’s efforts aimed at reducing and combating financial and administrative corruption, preserving national assets, achieving sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life.
