The Ministry of Municipality and Housing organizes the "Compliance Makers" forum to develop municipal oversight.

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, in cooperation with the Hail Region Municipality, has completed all the necessary arrangements to organize the "Compliance Makers" forum during the period from March 2-3, 2022, in order to develop municipal control operations and perform their role with high accuracy and efficiency and to improve the quality of services provided in accordance with the strategic objectives of the municipal sector.

The forum, hosted by the Hail Region Municipality, aims to continue developing municipal oversight operations in all their tracks at the municipality level, find solutions to the challenges facing each track, highlight the municipality’s rapid response to all reports, and enhance the municipality’s oversight roles at the level of (guidance, performance and commitment), with the participation of a number of distinguished inspectors at the municipality level, and the presence of the head of the Municipal Services and Infrastructure Sector at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the Secretary of the Hail Region, and the General Supervisor of the Licensing and Compliance Agency at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The forum includes (11) specialized workshops that discuss the challenges at the level of control paths, which are represented in (control of commercial establishments, visual distortion, environmental control, control of revenues, comprehensive control of housing, control of excavations, buildings, facilities and neighborhoods, cleanliness, encroachments and lands, and control of street vendors), and develop solutions to overcome these challenges.

The two-day forum will discuss three main themes. The first theme will address efforts to develop existing municipal requirements, the second theme will address the development of inspection lists, and the third theme will focus on developing supervisory guidelines. The forum will also review the results of some workshops to demonstrate the development and improvement made by the municipalities in the field of municipal supervision to achieve the ministry’s strategic goals.

The “Compliance Makers” forum is the first of its kind to bring together more than 100 monitors and specialists in all areas of oversight and 17 secretariats across the Kingdom, to discuss the most prominent oversight challenges and come up with creative ideas and solutions to develop the system’s work.
