The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and Alfaisal University signed a bilateral memorandum of understanding today with the aim of developing joint programs related to scientific research in the field of urban development and housing, modern trends in smart technologies, curriculum development and training. The signing took place in the presence and under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, and Her Royal Highness Princess Dr. Maha bint Mishari bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Vice President of the University for External Relations and Development.
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing was represented in signing the memorandum by His Excellency the Deputy Minister, Mr. Ehab bin Ghazi Hashani, while Alfaisal University was represented by the President of the University, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Hayaza.
The memorandum includes cooperation in the field of training and capacity building for the children of beneficiaries of the developmental housing program registered on the ministry’s lists. It also includes providing support and encouragement for academic research and design efforts, and cooperation in the cooperative training track by training university students practically. The agreement also allows for benefiting from the university’s academic and knowledge expertise in providing studies related to urban development, housing and modern trends in smart technologies, in addition to the ministry’s support for research chairs in related common topics and conducting research, courses and workshops that benefit both parties and society in general.
It is worth noting that the memorandum of understanding stems from the keenness of both parties to enhance joint work and integration between government agencies, and is an extension of the role of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and its partners in promoting social responsibility, consolidating cooperation and knowledge exchange, benefiting from the experiences of local and international universities, and developing scientific and research partnerships with distinguished universities and research institutions in order to achieve the best results in the fields of providing municipal and housing services and scientific research, and supporting the educational journey in the Kingdom in line with the strategic objectives of Vision 2030.
