The Ministry of Municipality and Housing showcases its strategy for the real estate development industry and investment opportunities at the International Real Estate Exhibition in France.

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing concluded its participation in the International Real Estate Exhibition ( MIPIM 2022 ) in Cannes, France, by showcasing its strategy for developing the real estate industry in the Kingdom and the promising opportunities in the sector by enabling private sector developers to provide affordable housing units for Saudi families with the aim of raising the rate of homeownership to 70% by 2030, and reaching 3 Saudi cities among the most livable cities in the world.

During his participation in one of the sessions of the exhibition held under the umbrella of “Invest in Saudi Arabia”, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Real Estate Development, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Tawil, explained that the Ministry aims to create a suitable environment for the real estate development sector in the Kingdom to provide 300,000 housing units by 2025 with high quality and reasonable prices within integrated residential communities that achieve the best standards of quality of life.

Al-Taweel pointed out that the Ministry’s efforts to sustain the development of the real estate sector resulted in providing incentives to real estate developers, qualifying them to implement 150,000 housing units of varying sizes and models to meet the aspirations of Saudi families, and using modern building methods in 60% of the housing projects supervised by the Ministry in partnership with 35 factories for building technologies, in addition to expanding the implementation of housing projects that meet quality of life standards of green spaces, gardens and sidewalks to contribute to improving the lifestyle of residents and raising the attractiveness of ownership in new housing projects.

He touched on the ministry’s various programs, foremost among them “Developing Real Estate Developers” and “Transforming Contractors into Developers,” in partnership with a number of entities internally and externally, with the aim of enhancing the supply of residential real estate, developing partnership models with the private sector to increase its participation in the sector, improving the journey of real estate developers by facilitating their procedures, raising the skills and classification of developers, increasing the quality of life standards in residential projects, and stimulating the use of modern building methods, promoting their use, and localizing their industry.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry’s participation comes within a group of government agencies and Saudi companies in the exhibition with the aim of highlighting investment opportunities in the real estate sector, and the government facilities provided to developers and contractors in the sector to enhance the real estate supply and create advanced residential communities within major residential suburbs and achieve the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030; and the International Real Estate Exhibition 2022 MIPIM provides multiple opportunities for investors by facilitating the work of investors to implement the largest number of development projects around the world.
