The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing has intensified its efforts to address visual pollution in priority areas. Field surveys were conducted this month using modern imaging technologies and artificial intelligence to analyze the images and identify visual pollution in these areas. The surveys then directed the relevant platforms to either address the issue or issue fines. The priority areas were identified based on a local analysis and criteria highlighting the importance of addressing these areas, given their significant impact on the city's urban landscape. The survey results showed a total of 429,000 positive visual pollution observations. The negative observations were as follows: 326 instances of damaged vehicles, 577 instances of damaged light poles, 5,575 instances of damaged concrete barriers, 3,168 instances of damaged building fences, and 5,007 instances of damaged construction debris. The survey reinforced the gains of the targeted inspection campaign launched at the beginning of the year, which included 132,000 visits covering more than 29,000 sites (licenses) and the identification of more than 28,000 visual pollution violations by 3,880 inspectors. It is worth noting that the visual pollution elements covered by the campaign included excavations and concrete barriers, construction debris, fences of buildings under construction, damaged vehicles, and light poles.
