The electronic rental services network “Ejar” announced that the rental index recorded more than 121,000 rental transactions during the past month of July, within the reports and data issued by the network in conjunction with the “Sakani” platform, in 16 cities included in the index covering all regions of the Kingdom, noting that the rental index recorded in the first half of this year about 800,000 residential rental transactions, and more than 300,000 commercial rental transactions.
The Ejar Network explained in a press statement today that approximately 105,000 residential lease contracts were documented in the network during the month of July, while commercial lease contracts approached 17,000, according to data from the sixth report in the cities covered by the rental index.
In comparison with the number of residential rental transactions in the first half of 2022 and the same period in 2021, the index recorded an increase of nearly 58% in residential rental transactions, while commercial rental transactions increased by 87% compared to the same period last year.
Riyadh had the highest number of rental transactions among the cities included in the index, with residential and commercial rental transactions accounting for 31.4% of the total transactions. Jeddah came in second with 24.9%, while rental transactions in Makkah exceeded 8.1%, followed by Madinah with 7.2%, then Dammam with 6.6%, while the remaining cities included in the index had percentages below 5%.
The rental index aims to achieve transparency and stimulate investment in the rental real estate sector in the Kingdom, by setting specific rental indices for cities, neighborhoods and different types of real estate, both residential and commercial.
The service enables the beneficiary to identify the residential index for average rental prices, including types of residential units (apartment, villa, floor), or (shop, showroom, office) in the commercial index for average prices per meter in commercial units; to reach more accurate results in the search and selection of real estate that suits his needs, and to facilitate search operations within the cities and neighborhoods covered by the service during periods specified by the beneficiary using interactive maps.
