Al-Asyah is located northeast of Buraydah, about 63 km away, and is connected to it by a paved road. It was named “Al-Asyah” due to the presence of wells and natural springs whose waters flow across the surface of the الأرض without pumping or lifting.

Its capital is Ayn ibn Fuhayd, and its population is approximately 40,000 people. It includes around 25 villages and settlements. Educational services are available in Al-Asyah, similar to other governorates in the Kingdom.

The السكان primarily rely on agriculture as their main economic activity. Key crops include date palms, grains, and barley. The governorate is also home to a project by the Arab Company for Livestock Development, producing poultry meat, eggs, fish, livestock, and animal feed (known as “Farooj Al-Asyah”).

Al-Asyah also contains several ancient archaeological sites visited by tourists, such as Marid Palace, the historic Marid Dam, the prayer site and camp of King Abdulaziz, Ayn Zubaidah, and the ruins of Al-Baysiyyah, old Tanumah, Najawat, and the ancient water channels constructed by early inhabitants.
