His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Majid Al-Hogail launched today “Jood” platform to improve, automate and raise the quality of the level of burial services. The launching event occurred in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, and several members of the board of Trustees of the Jood Foundation.
Jood platform aims to support charity work and promote community engagement through facilitating donor access to different donation opportunities and to provide services to beneficiaries, according to unified, quick, and easy procedures to facilitate the affairs of the families of the deceased.
Burial service foundations offer several services including, washing, shrouding, and transporting the deceased; provision of ghusl places, provision of mourner transportation services, and provision of portable umbrellas to protect them against heat during burial. Services also include providing digging tools, mobile baths, training, and maintenance.
MOMRAH supports Jood Platform, as part of its efforts in supporting the non-profit sector's initiatives, promoting community engagement, developing financial resources and financial sustainability in the charity sector, and greenlighting partnerships and integration between the government and the non-profit sectors.
Jood is a Saudi nonprofit platform that provides burial services. The platform is run and managed by the Private Burial Service Foundation. All the contributions and donations the platform receives are disbursed to associations that provide burial services, in partnership with civil society associations across the Kingdom.
