Al-Hogail witnesses the inauguration of 10 municipal projects in Al-Ahsa worth SAR 1.2B and the signing of 7 partnership and cooperation agreements affiliated with the Municipality

Mr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, inaugurated a number of municipal and service projects in the Al-Ahsa Governorate, with a total cost estimated at around 1.2 billion Saudi riyals. He also witnessed the signing of seven partnership agreements for the Al-Ahsa Municipality, under the patronage of the Prince of the Eastern Province, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in the presence of the Governor of Al-Ahsa, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Governorate Secretary, Engineer Essam bin Abdullatif Al-Mulla.

The inaugurated projects at the headquarters of the Al-Ahsa Municipality include the development project for the intersection of King Abdullah Road with Riyadh Road, which involves the construction of a 1,500-meter tunnel. There is also the development project for the intersection of Prince Sultan Road with Riyadh Road, as well as the paving of residential plots and the rehabilitation of three residential neighborhoods in the governorate, with the aim of creating a healthy residential environment, achieving the highest traffic safety rates, increasing commercial activity, stimulating investment, and improving public transportation efficiency. Other projects include the development and improvement of vital roads, the construction and implementation of a rainwater drainage network, the implementation of lighting projects for villages and towns, the completion of road safety works on main roads, the development and improvement of roads received from the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, and the preparation of the infrastructure for the operation of the public transportation network in Al-Ahsa.

The partnership agreements and collaborations between the municipality and several investors involved the signing of an agreement with the Charitable Restoration Association to renovate 1,200 housing units for the neediest families in Al-Hofuf, Al-Mubarraz, Al-Ayoun, Jufair, and Jawatha. The agreements also included the signing of three initiatives to establish a conference and exhibition hall affiliated with the Municipality on an area of 6,000 square meters, the development of a community park in the historic Al-Mubarraz city, and the establishment of a park next to the popular Wednesday market, among other initiatives.

Al-Hogail also witnessed the signing of three investment contracts in the municipal sector, which included the development, operation, and maintenance of King Abdullah Environmental Park on an area of 500,000 square meters, the completion of the development, maintenance, and operation of King Abdullah Cultural Center on an area of 203,000 square meters, and the implementation of development, operation, and maintenance projects in Abu Hasais Mountain on an area of 120,000 square meters. He also witnessed the signing of memoranda of understanding between Waha Development and Investment Company, the investment arm of the Al-Ahsa Municipality, and Dan Company and Al Othaim Company, which aim to implement development, service, and recreational projects in Al-Ahsa.

During his visit to the governorate, Al-Hogail met with a number of investors and businessmen at the Municipality's headquarters to discuss and present the investment opportunities provided by MOMRAH in the municipal and housing sectors within the development programs and initiatives aimed at achieving the goals of Vision 2030. They also discussed the challenges faced by businessmen, emphasizing the Ministry's efforts to stimulate investment in the sector and provide all facilities for investors.

Al-Hogail attended the opening ceremony of the Al-Ahsa Date Marketing Festival "The Sweetest Date 2024," organized by the municipality. The festival serves as a platform to promote growth in date production and its products through the latest technologies and the highest quality standards, contributing to increasing date exports and transforming them from an agricultural product into an economic and investment product with an impact on the local output.

During his visit to the governorate, Al-Hogail took a tour in the historic Al-Hofuf area and visited the Al-Qaisaria Festival organized by the Al-Ahsa Municipality, with the aim of utilizing the cultural heritage of Al-Ahsa through the historic Al-Qaisaria Market. He also visited the completed development project in Al-Shu'bah Mountain and the popular Sunday market.

It is worth mentioning that the visit of the Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing to the Al-Ahsa Governorate is part of a series of visits and inspection tours carried out by him in various cities, governorates, and provinces of the Kingdom to review the projects, initiatives, and programs of the MOMRAH and municipalities in the municipal and housing sectors, and to follow up on the progress of development projects.
