His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Budair, concluded his inspection tour in Taif Governorate today by handing over a number of housing units in the “City of Roses” project to beneficiaries of the “Sakani” program within the first phase of the project, in the presence of the Secretary of Taif Governorate, Dr. Ahmed bin Aziz Al-Qathami, and a number of ministry officials.

Dr. Abdulqader bin Nasser Al-Obaikan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Management for Development and Investment Company - the real estate developer of the project - explained that the "City of Roses" project extends over an area of more than 9 million square meters and includes 4,775 residential villas, indicating that the project provides a quality of life for Saudi families and quality of construction and sustainable planning using the latest modern and qualified construction technologies.

He pointed out that the project comes as an extension of achieving the objectives of the Housing Program – one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 – to increase the rate of homeownership to 70% by the year 2030, through effective partnership between the private sector and the Housing Program, represented by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and its investment arm, the National Housing Company ( NHC ), and under the direct supervision of the Off-Plan Sales or Leasing Program “Wafi”.

The “City of Roses” project in Taif is distinguished by being a fully serviced residential suburb with strategic location within the urban area of the governorate on Al-Sail Road. It is being implemented using one of the latest tunnel formwork ( TF ) construction methods, and is about 10 minutes away from the heart of Taif Governorate and the central area, about 15 minutes from Taif University, and about 20 minutes from Taif Airport and Al-Hada area.

“City of Roses” is one of three projects under construction in Taif Governorate, providing more than 5,519 units of various designs and sizes. The governorate is witnessing their implementation in partnership with real estate developers from the private sector, including the “City of Roses” project, and the “Taj Al-Masif” project, which includes 556 residential villas ranging in size from 300-400 m2 with distinctive modern designs that take into account the needs of families, in addition to the “Al-Fath” project, which provides 488 residential units, including apartments and villas, located on an area of more than 109,000 m2 in the Al-Sail Al-Saghir neighborhood, in the middle of the Riyadh and Al-Sail roads, near vital sites such as Taif International Airport, Taif University, and other facilities and services.

At the level of plans, Taif Governorate includes 3 residential plans, including the “Al-Jalil Oasis” plan, which provides 6,670 plots of land, and the “Al-Miqat Oasis” plan, which provides 5,118 plots of land, where land contracts were issued through the “Sakani” website and application, and self-construction work has begun by the beneficiaries, in addition to the “Azhar Al-Taif” plan, which provides 1,080 residential plots and is expected to be launched soon, within the program’s efforts to raise the rate of residential ownership to 70% by 2030 in order to achieve the objectives of the Housing Program – one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The handover of the housing units in the project comes as a continuation of what was previously handed over within a number of projects under construction, which are being implemented in various cities of the Kingdom, within the framework of keenness to enable Saudi families to own property by taking advantage of diverse housing options, and in line with the objectives of the Housing Program - one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 - by increasing the supply of housing units in all regions of the Kingdom, enabling demand through subsidized mortgage loans, and facilitating procedures within the “Sakani” electronic platform.

It is worth mentioning that the Makkah region includes more than 69,000 residential units of varying sizes and designs, including apartments, villas, and townhouses, within 27 projects distributed in Jeddah Governorate within the residential suburbs (Al-Jawhara, Al-Mayar, and Khayala), Makkah, Taif, and Rabigh, and about 19 plans that provide more than 35,000 residential plots. The region is witnessing an acceleration of construction work to enhance the real estate supply to meet the demand for units and provide suitable housing.
