Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing concludes official visit to Turkey

The Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, has successfully concluded his official visit to the Republic of Turkey. The purpose of the visit was to enhance the existing partnerships between the two nations in various sectors such as urban development, construction, contracting, smart cities, and urban development.

During his official visit to Ankara, the capital of Turkey, His Excellency engaged in fruitful discussions with various ministers and government officials. The focus of these meetings revolved around exploring avenues of collaboration in key areas such as the economy, urban development, and city planning and development. In a high-level meeting, His Excellency convened with several prominent Turkish officials, including the Minister of Trade, Omar Polat, the Minister of Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change, Mehmet Oz Haseki, the Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Simsek, and the President of the Turkish Contractors Association, Erdal Eren.

During the meetings, discussions were held on ways to strengthen collaboration and investment opportunities in the municipal and housing sectors. Al-Hogail was provided with insights into the most successful Turkish practises and experiences. In the realms of finance, construction, building, and urban development, experts are closely examining the Saudi experience in the real estate development sector. This analysis also encompasses experiences related to city development and the preservation of their historical essence.

During the second day of his visit, His Excellency had the opportunity to witness the inauguration of the Saudi-Turkish Business Forum in Istanbul. The event, organised in collaboration with the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and the Foreign Council on Economic Relations, was graced by the presence of His Excellency the Turkish Minister of Trade, Omar Polat. During the Forum, Saudi-Turkish investment opportunities were thoroughly examined, with a focus on enhancing partnerships between the two nations. The discussions primarily revolved around various sectors such as urban development, construction, contracting, and smart cities. The forum aimed to foster collaboration and explore avenues for mutual growth and development.

During the forum's activities, Al-Hogail held a meeting with the Saudi delegation. Additionally, he had the opportunity to witness a significant gathering between the Turkish Minister of Trade and several Saudi and Turkish investors and businesspeople. The purpose of this meeting was to explore potential investment opportunities and foster collaboration between the two sides.

During the forum, Al-Hogail witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements between Saudi and Turkish companies in various investment sectors. These agreements, with a total value surpassing 2.3 billion riyals, were signed on the sidelines of the event.

In a significant diplomatic meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing engaged in discussions with the Governor of Istanbul, Davut Gul. The focus of the meeting was to assess the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries and explore avenues for further enhancing their ties.

During the conclusion of his visit, His Excellency engaged in a meeting with several CEOs of Turkish companies who specialise in the operation of cities. The gathering provided an opportunity for these Turkish companies to share their valuable experiences in managing public facilities.
