Today, His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Haqil, visited the Al-Baha region, during which he reviewed the progress of municipal and housing projects and development programs. He witnessed the inauguration by His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha region, of a number of completed municipal and housing projects, and the laying of the foundation stone for new projects, with total investments exceeding 1.67 billion riyals, in addition to handing over housing units to beneficiaries of developmental housing .
The municipal projects included the inauguration of completed projects worth 464 million riyals, in addition to laying the foundation stone for new projects worth 873.5 million riyals, which included road, sidewalk, lighting, flood control, parks and gardens, and municipal facilities, which contribute to developing the infrastructure and raising the quality of services provided to residents and visitors .
In the housing sector, His Excellency the Minister witnessed the inauguration of completed housing projects worth 185.7 million riyals, including the Al-Mafrajah Hills project and developmental housing projects in the governorates of Baljurashi and Qalwa, in addition to laying the foundation stone for new housing projects worth 150 million riyals within the off-plan sales projects, in support of increasing the housing supply and enabling families to own homes .
His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing also witnessed the inauguration of 16 municipal investment projects with total revenues of 284 million riyals, the handover of 19 housing units to beneficiaries of developmental housing programs, and the honoring of a number of major donors participating in the Jood Housing Campaign for the year 1447 AH .
During the visit, His Excellency chaired a meeting with the leaders of the Baha Region Secretariat to follow up on performance indicators and achievement levels. He also met with a number of citizens and listened to their needs and demands, and met with investors and businessmen to discuss investment opportunities in the municipal and housing sectors .
His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing visited a number of quality investment and tourism projects, most notably the Raghadan Tourist Resort “Sera”, supported by the Tourism Development Fund in partnership with Seera Holding Group, and the “Rotana Edge” Hotel, supported by the Tourism Development Fund, in addition to the “Al-Baha Plaza” project, which extends over an area of more than 9,000 square meters, the “Makamaya Tourist Accommodation” project, and the “Qamra – Honey Garden” project, which is being developed by Asfar Saudi Tourism Investment Company - one of the Public Investment Fund companies .
His Excellency the Minister also witnessed the launch by His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha Region, of the Al-Baha Summer Festival 2026, which includes more than 500 tourist, cultural and entertainment events .
His Excellency was briefed on the readiness of the Emergency and Crisis Center in the Baha Region Municipality, after the completion of the operation of its new headquarters at 100%, stressing the importance of developing the emergency system and raising the efficiency of response to emergency cases, in order to enhance the readiness of the municipal sector to deal with various circumstances .
The visit of His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing to the Al-Baha region comes within the framework of following up on the implementation of development projects and programs, assessing the level of achievement in the municipal and housing sectors, and strengthening partnership with relevant authorities, in a way that contributes to developing investment opportunities, raising the quality of life and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 .
