His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, will begin a visit to the People’s Republic of China from June 13 to 16, 2026 , to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in the housing, real estate development, infrastructure and smart city technologies sectors, in addition to opening the Saudi-Chinese Contractors Forum with broad participation from government agencies, companies, investors and contractors from both countries.

The visit comes within the framework of strengthening economic and development relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People’s Republic of China, and expanding areas of cooperation in support of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing the municipal and housing sector and raising the efficiency of urban development.

During the visit, His Excellency is scheduled to inaugurate the Saudi-Chinese Contractors Forum, which aims to promote quality partnerships, exchange experiences, and explore investment opportunities in housing, infrastructure, and urban development projects, with the participation of a number of government agencies, companies, and investors from both sides.

The visit also includes a series of meetings with a number of officials and leaders of leading Chinese companies and institutions in the fields of modern construction, manufacturing, digital technologies and smart city solutions, in addition to learning about the latest practices and advanced experiences in city development and the management of urban facilities and services.

The visit is an extension of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing’s efforts to build effective international partnerships that contribute to knowledge transfer, localization of modern technologies, and enhancing private sector participation in development projects, which will reflect on the quality of life and raise the efficiency of services provided to residents.

The visit is expected to include discussions on a number of joint initiatives and opportunities that support cooperation between the two sides in the areas of housing, construction and urban development, and enhance the utilization of global expertise in building more sustainable and efficient cities, in line with the Kingdom’s comprehensive development goals.
