The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the Holy Capital Municipality, announced the completion of its operational and service preparations for the Hajj season of 1447 AH, through an integrated municipal system aimed at enhancing public safety and health, and raising the efficiency of field response in various vital locations.

The ministry explained that its preparations included deploying more than 22,000 field personnel, more than 3,000 vehicles and equipment, in addition to emergency teams working around the clock, shelters, and fixed and mobile laboratories, in support of the readiness of field operations during the season.

The ministry carried out extensive work in preparing roads and infrastructure, including an internal road network exceeding 73 million square meters, supported by 123 bridges and 44 tunnels for pedestrians and vehicles, in addition to preparing lighting networks and raising the readiness of municipal elements related to the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of the pilgrims.

The ministry also enhanced the readiness of the holy sites in Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah through a prepared infrastructure spanning an area of 4.6 million square meters, including 20 bridges and 18 tunnels, which supports the movement of crowds and raises the efficiency of services in high-density locations.

In the hygiene, environmental sanitation and food safety sector, the ministry intensified its work through a hygiene system that includes more than 88,000 hygiene units, 113 underground warehouses, and 1,235 pressure units, in addition to more than 13,000 hygiene personnel, 403 environmental sanitation personnel, and 380 food safety and catering inspectors.

The ministry supports food safety efforts through 5 advanced laboratories, with a testing rate of one sample per minute and a capacity of up to 1,300 samples per day, while inspectors carry out more than 2,800 inspection visits daily to ensure the safety of food and commercial services provided to pilgrims.

The ministry also supported its field services through 66 service centers, including 28 centers within the holy sites, which operate as field operations rooms that contribute to speed of response and increase the efficiency of dealing with reports and observations.

Regarding municipal reports, the system, through the "Baladi" platform, handles more than 29,000 reports with an average response time of no more than 1 minute and 13 seconds per report, which enhances the ability of field teams to monitor the needs of vital sites and deal with them efficiently.

These preparations are part of an integrated operational plan that the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has harnessed through its system to serve the pilgrims, enhance municipal readiness, and raise the efficiency of field performance during the Hajj season.
