The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing raises the readiness of Muzdalifah to receive pilgrims

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the Holy Capital Municipality, has raised the readiness of Muzdalifah to receive the pilgrims after their departure from Arafat, as part of its operational plan for the Hajj season of 1447 AH, through an integrated field and service system aimed at enhancing the quality of services and enhancing the efficiency of environmental sanitation and crowd management in the area .

The ministry explained that the field teams had begun early on the comprehensive preparation work in Muzdalifah, by intensifying cleaning and environmental sanitation work, preparing public facilities, preparing paths and pedestrian sites, in addition to supporting the sites with additional field teams and specialized equipment working around the clock to ensure a rapid response to emergencies and to deal with high human densities .

She explained that the work system in Muzdalifah is supported by more than 13,000 field staff working in Makkah and the holy sites, in addition to thousands of operational vehicles and equipment, which enhances the sustainability of municipal services and raises the level of readiness during the stages of the movement of pilgrims between the holy sites .

The ministry added that cleaning and waste management work in Muzdalifah is carried out through an integrated operational plan that includes intensifying the continuous collection and removal of waste, and utilizing the system of compacting bins and ground storage facilities spread throughout the holy sites, which contributes to preserving the general environment and raising the efficiency of environmental sanitation .

The Ministry confirmed the readiness of the emergency and field maintenance teams in Muzdalifah, in addition to the teams for combating disease vectors and public health pests, and the teams for monitoring flood drainage and lighting networks, in order to ensure a safe and prepared environment for the pilgrims, and to reflect the integration of governmental efforts to serve them and enable them to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing began the process of rehabilitating the Mina area immediately after the pilgrims headed to Arafat, through the implementation of intensive environmental sanitation works, waste removal and field preparation of sites, to ensure the readiness of the area to receive the pilgrims after their departure .
The ministry also supported its operational plan with an integrated waste management system in the holy sites, which includes compacting bins, underground storage facilities, thousands of pieces of equipment and field personnel, which contributes to preserving the general environment and raising the quality of services provided to the pilgrims.
