The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing launched the “Our Cities Encourage” initiative through its affiliated secretariats and municipalities in various regions and governorates of the Kingdom, coinciding with the start of the 2026 World Cup competitions, with the aim of preparing public facilities and urban destinations to receive fans and enhance community participation in following the global sporting event.

The ministry explained that the initiative comes under the slogan "From your home to your city... Experience the World Cup atmosphere," and seeks to provide public viewing sites in squares, parks, municipal facades and public facilities, enabling residents and visitors to enjoy the tournament atmosphere in environments equipped with services and support facilities.

She explained that the initiative aims to activate public facilities in various regions of the Kingdom by equipping viewing sites and improving the readiness of targeted sites, which contributes to providing an integrated and safe experience for visitors, and enhances the use of public spaces and urban destinations.

The municipalities and secretariats are responsible for implementing the initiative in various regions and governorates of the Kingdom, by preparing public viewing sites and supervising their readiness, in line with the global event and enhancing the presence of community events in Saudi cities.

The ministry affirmed that the initiative comes within its efforts to enhance the quality of life, improve the urban landscape, and revitalize public facilities, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to build vibrant cities that provide attractive environments for residents and visitors, and enhance the role of public facilities as spaces that support community interaction and quality activities.
