The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has issued more than 1,360 licenses for group housing for individuals, including preliminary licenses, since the implementation of the requirement for establishments to house workers in licensed group housing in September 2025, in an indicator that reflects growing levels of compliance with regulatory requirements, and strengthens efforts to regulate the group housing sector and raise the quality of housing allocated to workers .
The ministry explained that the number of license applications submitted has witnessed a remarkable increase, in an indicator that reflects the growing awareness of establishments of the importance of complying with the approved requirements, and the continuation of its efforts to correct the housing conditions of workers, which contributes to organizing the sector and raising the efficiency of the services provided.
She pointed out that the capacity of licenses issued through the “Baladi” platform reached about one million beneficiaries, which enhances the provision of housing that meets health and regulatory requirements, raises the quality of the collective housing environment, and keeps pace with the Ministry’s objectives in regulating the workers’ housing sector .
The ministry affirmed that expanding the issuance of licenses is one of the enablers for governing the collective housing sector for individuals, by raising compliance levels, improving the quality of housing allocated to workers, and providing safe and organized residential environments, which will positively impact the quality of life and raise the efficiency of services provided to beneficiaries .
The ministry called on the establishments covered by the decision to take the initiative to complete the licensing procedures and take advantage of the digital services available through the "Baladi" platform, and to correct their situations in accordance with the approved requirements, stressing that compliance with health, environmental and regulatory requirements contributes to enhancing the sustainability of the sector, and raising the quality of the collective housing environment for individuals.
