Ministry of Municipalities and Housing: More than 10,000 volunteers complete 50,000 volunteer hours within the "Urban Beauty Cities" initiative.

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced the conclusion of the "Urban Beauty Cities" initiative after achieving its field and awareness targets, with the participation of 10,213 male and female volunteers, and the implementation of more than 50,000 volunteer hours in all regions of the Kingdom, within a national program that contributed to promoting the culture of volunteering, improving the urban landscape and raising the quality of life.

The initiative witnessed the participation of male and female students from public education schools in field and awareness work targeting public facilities, municipal and school sites, which enhanced social responsibility among young people and contributed to consolidating the values of preserving the urban environment and public facilities.

The initiative was launched by the Hail Region Municipality and extended to include the municipalities of Madinah, Jeddah, Taif, Najran, Al-Baha, Dammam, Al-Ahsa, Tabuk, Jazan, the Northern Borders, Riyadh, Al-Qassim, Hafr Al-Batin, Al-Jawf, the Holy Capital, and Asir, within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to promote community participation and support voluntary initiatives with a sustainable impact.

The initiative was implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the regional secretariats, and in partnership with the Saudi National Bank ( SNB ). Wathr Al-Emara Limited undertook the implementation of the initiative, in a model that reflects the integration of efforts between the municipal, private and educational sectors, and enhances the role of national partnerships in supporting sustainable community development .

The initiative was based on three main tracks that included traffic safety, afforestation, and beautification painting, with the aim of contributing to improving the urban landscape and promoting awareness of the importance of volunteer work and community participation among male and female students.

The initiative resulted in the implementation of more than 50,000 volunteer hours, with an average of five hours per participant, making it one of the largest student volunteer initiatives in the Kingdom in terms of the size of participation, the breadth of implementation, and the community impact.

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing affirmed that the initiative embodies the importance of involving the educational community in efforts to improve cities and enhance the quality of life, which contributes to building more sustainable and interactive urban environments, and supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing volunteer work and enhancing community participation.
