The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced the issuance and renewal of more than 274,000 commercial licenses during the first half of 2026, reflecting the vitality of economic activity and the continued growth of businesses in various cities and governorates of the Kingdom .
The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Rasasmeh, explained that the licenses included the issuance of more than 97,000 new commercial licenses and the renewal of more than 177,000 licenses, in an indicator that reflects the continuity of commercial activities, the strengthening of the business environment, and the ability of commercial establishments to continue their work through easy digital procedures .
Al-Rasasmeh added that the services provided during the same period included the implementation of more than 91,000 modifications to commercial licenses, more than 43,000 additions to commercial activities, and more than 39,000 transfers of license ownership, as part of the diversity of services provided by the Ministry to meet the needs of the business sector and raise the efficiency of the beneficiary’s journey through digital platforms .
The official spokesperson confirmed that these results are an extension of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to develop the municipal licensing system, simplify procedures, and raise the efficiency of digital services, with the aim of accelerating the completion of transactions and improving the experience of investors and business owners, noting that the “Baladi” platform represents one of the most prominent digital enablers that support the municipal sector and contribute to providing integrated services to beneficiaries .
Al-Rasasmeh pointed out that the continuous growth in the number of commercial licenses reflects the attractiveness of the investment environment in Saudi cities, and the effectiveness of the initiatives implemented by the Ministry to empower the private sector, stimulate commercial activities and promote sustainable economic development, in order to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 .
The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing called on owners of commercial establishments to take advantage of the electronic services provided by the "Baladi" platform, to ensure the continuity of their commercial activities and to benefit from the services with ease and convenience .
