The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing revealed that 63,076 Saudi families moved into their first home during the first half of 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to enable families to own suitable housing and expand their access to diverse housing and financing solutions and options.
The ministry explained that the number of families who moved into their first home during the month of June reached 12,004 Saudi families, bringing the total number of families who moved into their first home since the beginning of the year until the end of June to more than 63,000 families.
She indicated that the total number of families benefiting from housing support services during the first half of this year reached 48,631 Saudi families, after 10,160 families benefited from support services during the month of June.
She noted that the total number of subsidized housing contracts for beneficiaries since the launch of the “Sakani” program in 2017 until the end of June 2026 rose to 1,046,890 contracts, reflecting the continued impact of the program in enhancing homeownership opportunities and facilitating the journey for Saudi families to obtain housing.
The ministry affirmed that these results are an extension of the efforts made by the housing system to provide diverse housing and financing solutions, raise the efficiency of services provided to beneficiaries, and accelerate ownership procedures in integration with financing entities and real estate developers.
She added that the “Sakani” program continues to provide a number of housing options that include ready-made housing units, units under construction within off-plan sales projects, self-build, and residential lands, enabling beneficiaries to choose the housing solution that best suits their needs and capabilities.
She stated that residential projects implemented in partnership with real estate developers contribute to increasing the housing supply and developing integrated communities that include facilities, services and open spaces, which enhances the quality of life and provides vibrant and sustainable residential environments.
The ministry indicated that the efforts of the housing system contributed to raising the percentage of Saudi families owning homes to 66.24 percent by the end of 2025, in continuous progress towards achieving the target of the housing program - one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030 - of reaching an ownership rate of 70 percent.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to work on enhancing the housing supply and expanding the range of solutions and options available to Saudi families, in partnership with the private sector and financing entities, in order to support the sustainability of the housing sector and meet the needs of beneficiaries in various regions of the Kingdom .
