Ministry of Municipalities and Housing: 15 million square meters of undeveloped land in the Qassim region have entered development or are being traded

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing revealed that the total area of undeveloped land that has entered development or trading paths in the Qassim region has reached about 15 million square meters, a result that reflects the effect of applying the system of fees for undeveloped land and vacant properties in stimulating urban development, raising the efficiency of land use within urban areas, and increasing the supply of real estate and housing in the region.
The ministry explained that the registered areas included 606,000 square meters of land that had been developed, 6 million square meters of undeveloped land that had entered circulation, in addition to 8 million square meters that were still under development, which supports the transformation of unexploited land into effective urban projects and products.
She explained that the revenues from the white land fees contributed to supporting 5 housing projects and possible infrastructure projects in the Qassim region, which enhances directing the revenues from the fees towards projects that serve urban development, support the preparation of the urban environment, and keep pace with the needs of population and urban growth in the cities and governorates of the region.
The ministry affirmed that these results are an extension of ongoing efforts aimed at regulating the real estate market, stimulating land development within cities, enhancing the balance between supply and demand, in addition to raising the efficiency of land investment and increasing the supply of urban and residential products.
She pointed out that the White Land and Vacant Real Estate Fees Program continues its role in stimulating development by applying fees to lands located within the geographical areas specified by the system, while providing the systemic deadlines for serious taxpayers to develop their lands in accordance with the approved technical controls, in order to accelerate the implementation of projects and transform white lands into productive urban assets.
She added that the Real Estate Developers Services Center “Etmam” continues to provide support to owners of undeveloped land through an integrated digital system that includes more than 35 services covering various stages of development, and provides clear and easy pathways to complete licenses, approvals and coordination with relevant authorities, which raises the efficiency of project implementation within urban areas.
The ministry announced in recent weeks that about 71 million square meters of undeveloped land in the Riyadh region have entered into development or trading, including 29 million square meters that have been developed, 20 million square meters that have entered into trading, and 21 million square meters that are under development, in addition to supporting 27 projects from the revenues of fees.
The total area in the Eastern Province reached approximately 146 million square meters, of which 49 million square meters were developed, 61 million square meters entered circulation, and 36 million square meters are under development, with support for 16 development and urban projects.
In the Makkah region, the total reached about 28 million square meters, including 13 million square meters that were developed, 9 million square meters that entered circulation, and 5 million square meters under development, in addition to supporting 14 development and residential projects.
As for the Madinah region, the total area of undeveloped land that entered into development or trading reached about 19 million square meters, including 12 million square meters that were developed, 2 million square meters that entered into trading, and 5 million square meters that are under development, with support for 9 development and residential projects from the revenues of fees.
The ministry affirmed that the integration between the application of fees and enabling owners to access development services enhances the efficiency of land investment, accelerates its development, and supports an increase in the supply of real estate and housing, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 aimed at building more organized and sustainable cities.
