The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing confirmed that the corrective period granted to owners of vacant land ends after 45 days, on 15 Rabi’ al-Thani 1448 AH (September 26, 2026 AD), calling on owners to take the initiative to correct the status of their land and to comply with the approved municipal requirements and regulations before the deadline expires.
The ministry explained that the deadline aims to enhance compliance levels in vacant lands, and to address violations and practices that affect the general appearance of cities and governorates, most notably the accumulation of construction waste and excavation debris, and the exploitation of lands in irregular ways.
She explained that the secretariats and municipalities carry out field monitoring and control work on vacant lands in various regions of the Kingdom, to monitor violations and address them in accordance with the approved municipal regulations and requirements, which contributes to raising the level of compliance and reducing the manifestations of visual distortion.
The ministry indicated that adherence to regulations governing vacant land contributes to improving the urban landscape, enhancing the quality of the built environment, and boosting the quality of life in cities and governorates. It urged owners of vacant land to take advantage of the remaining grace period and address the status of their land before it expires, in order to avoid legal penalties for violations.
The ministry affirmed that the secretariats and municipalities will continue to implement programs and initiatives to improve the urban landscape in various regions of the Kingdom, in support of the goals of quality of life and sustainable urban development.
