Ministry of Municipalities and Housing: 7 million square meters of undeveloped land in the Asir region have entered development paths

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing revealed that the total area of undeveloped land that has entered development paths in the Asir region has reached 7 million square meters, as part of the results of applying the system of fees for undeveloped land and vacant properties aimed at stimulating land development and raising the efficiency of its use within urban areas.
The ministry explained that the areas included 1.5 million square meters of developed land, in addition to 5.5 million square meters of land under development, which enhances the utilization of undeveloped land and supports an increase in the supply of real estate and housing in the region.
She explained that the revenues from the white land fees contributed to supporting 17 projects in the Asir region, within the framework of directing the fee proceeds to support the infrastructure of residential projects and enhance urban development in the region.
The ministry affirmed that these results are an extension of its efforts to encourage landowners to develop, increase the efficiency of land investment within cities, support the balance between supply and demand, and enhance the supply of urban and residential products.
She noted that the White Land and Vacant Properties Fees Program continues its role in stimulating development by applying fees to lands located within the geographical areas specified by law, while providing legal grace periods for taxpayers who are serious about developing their lands in accordance with the approved regulations.
She added that the Real Estate Developers Services Center “Etmam” continues to support landowners and developers through a digital system that includes more than 35 services covering various stages of development, and facilitates licensing, approvals and coordination with relevant authorities, thus accelerating the implementation of projects within urban areas.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing continues to work on enhancing the integration between the application of fees and enabling owners to access development services, in order to raise the efficiency of land use, accelerate its development, and increase the supply of real estate and housing, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The ministry had previously revealed the results of applying fees for white land and vacant properties in a number of regions of the Kingdom, as the total area of land that entered development or trading amounted to about 279 million square meters, including 146 million square meters in the Eastern Province, 71 million in Riyadh, 28 million in Makkah, 19 million in Madinah, and 15 million in Qassim, while the revenues of the fees contributed to supporting 71 projects in these regions.
