The Ministry of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, represented by the Deputy Ministry for Housing and Beneficiaries Support, and the National Developmental Housing Foundation "Sakan" have signed a cooperation agreement to launch new models that enable the neediest families to obtain suitable housing. The agreement was signed in the presence of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Budair.
This took place on the sidelines of the Cityscape Global Exhibition, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh from September 10th to 13th, 2023. The agreement was signed by the Deputy Minister for Housing and Beneficiaries Support, Ayman Saleh, on behalf of the Ministry, while "Sakan" Secretary-General, Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al-Kuraidis, signed the agreement on behalf of the Foundation.
Ayman Saleh, the Deputy Minister for Housing and Beneficiaries Support, emphasized the Ministry's commitment to providing appropriate solutions for all segments of society to enable them to obtain suitable housing. This includes the neediest families for whom the housing sector seeks to provide the best options, within the efforts of the Development Housing Program and Sakan. He further stated that the agreement aims to innovate more solutions that are suitable for the neediest beneficiaries and will have a positive impact in achieving several targets.
The Secretary-General of Sakan emphasized that through this agreement, the institution seeks to develop more innovative solutions that align with the capabilities of the neediest families, enabling them to obtain suitable housing products at competitive prices. He also emphasized the role that the Foundation will play after the completion of studying and launching the new models, by bearing a portion of the beneficiary's monthly installment. He commended the vital role played by the Deputy Ministry for Housing and Beneficiaries Support, the Real Estate Development Fund, and the National Housing Company (NHC) in studying and constructing innovative models and bringing them to light.
It is worth mentioning that Sakan is a private foundation chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail. It aims to stimulate giving and community participation through innovative initiatives, including "Jood Housing" initiative and the "Housing Innovation Solution" initiative. Sakan also seeks to achieve leadership in empowering the non-profit housing sector to provide sustainable solutions.
