Over 51 thousand Saudi families achieve homeownership milestone in H1 2023

According to the Sakani Program, a total of 45,209 Saudi families have benefited from the housing options and financing solutions provided by the programme since the beginning of the year until the end of last June. Additionally, 51,350 families were able to live in their own homes, thanks to the joint efforts aimed at improving their ability to afford housing costs. In a recent press statement, the Program announced that a total of 7,143 families have benefited from the services in the month of May. Additionally, 7,675 families were able to secure their first home with the help of the optional support packages offered by "Sakani". These efforts are aimed at providing assistance to Saudi families in need. In a bid to bolster homeownership among families, such packages offer flexible and diverse solutions. Through this Program, beneficiaries of ready-to-use, under-construction, and self-construction housing units will receive immediate, non-refundable assistance. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Real Estate Development Fund and various financing entities, including banks, financing institutions, and real estate developers. In a bid to promote housing support and expedite Saudi families' homeownership, "Sakani" has introduced a range of packages and options. Recognising the significance of diversifying financing and housing choices, the initiative aims to ensure a sustained provision of housing assistance.

These include access to a real estate consultant, the ability to obtain real estate transaction tax certificates for first-time homebuyers, obtaining quotes from financing agencies, the option to issue land contracts electronically, and the opportunity to benefit from engineering design services, the "approved contractor" service, Additionally, users can access electronic financing services and the "real estate market" through the platform, as well as electronic systems for registration, immediate entitlement, and issuance of building permits.
