The Off-Plan Sales and Leasing Committee (Wafi) announced that it issued 203 licenses for off-plan projects from the beginning of the year until the end of last May, including about 55 licenses for off-plan residential projects providing 19,499 units. The program also approved the completion of 5 residential projects, as an extension of the committee’s efforts aimed at enhancing the real estate supply in the market and raising the rate of residential ownership to 70% by 2030, in accordance with the objectives of the Housing Program – one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The committee explained in a press statement today that the licenses issued since the beginning of the year included sales licenses for large, medium and small projects, rental licenses, and marketing and display licenses for internal and external off-plan projects. It indicated that it has so far licensed more than 266 residential projects that provide about 208,000 housing units, as the construction work for 17 of them has been completed, and there are a number of current projects that have reached advanced completion rates and will be delivered on time according to the approved time plans.

It is worth mentioning that “Wafi” provides a package of licenses for off-plan sales projects, and monitors their completion rates and the quality of their implementation, in addition to motivating and qualifying real estate developers to create distinguished and integrated projects that meet the aspirations of the real estate market. “Wafi” grants off-plan sales licenses for all residential, commercial, industrial and other real estate projects; to enhance the supply of real estate units, and to contribute to increasing the rate of homeownership for Saudi families to 70% by the year 2030; in line with the objectives of the Housing Program - one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 -.
