Al-Budair meets with the Mayor of Jeddah and inspects a number of housing projects before their handover
His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Budair, met today with His Excellency the Mayor of Jeddah, Mr. Saleh bin Ali Al-Turki, and a number of officials of the municipality, during his tour in the Makkah region to visit a number of housing projects and construction sites in Makkah and Jeddah.
During his meeting at the Jeddah Municipality, Al-Budair discussed a number of topics, most notably the slums of Jeddah and investment opportunities in the governorate, in addition to the third sector and community participation. His Excellency also met at the Municipality headquarters with representatives of charitable housing associations in Jeddah.
The tour included the Jeddah Governorate Project Management Office, where he listened to a detailed explanation of the most prominent projects that the governorate is waiting for, in addition to strengthening ways of cooperation between the office and the ministry. This was followed by a visit by His Excellency and the accompanying delegation to the Central Jeddah Development Company.
His Excellency the Deputy also inspected a number of housing projects, as he visited Al-Jawhara suburb, which includes four projects (Finan, Bouvardia City, Al-Jawhara Residence, and Pilar), and checked on the readiness of the projects before handing them over to citizens. His Excellency also reviewed a number of housing units allocated to beneficiaries of developmental housing.
Jeddah Governorate is home to 24 residential projects in partnership between “Sakani” and the private sector, with a total area exceeding 7 million square meters, providing various housing options and solutions that suit all segments within easy and convenient procedures, taking into account the diversity of desires and capabilities and the commitment to maintaining quality and a suitable price, in addition to the facilities and services necessary to provide a modern and integrated lifestyle.
His Excellency noted that homeownership for Saudi families is a priority in light of the attention given to the housing sector and the unlimited support from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince - may God protect them - which has contributed to achieving unprecedented accomplishments in the housing sector, stressing the continuation of the program in partnership with real estate developers in launching integrated housing projects, in addition to other housing options.
Al-Budair concluded his tour today with a visit to the Ikram Al-Mawta (Friends of Society) mortuary and the comprehensive residential center in Jeddah. His Excellency will also inaugurate tomorrow, Monday, the Restatex Jeddah Real Estate Exhibition with the participation of more than 40 entities ranging from real estate and housing development companies to financing entities. The exhibition will be held at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events during the period from 10-13 October.
