His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, today inaugurated the International Facilities Management Conference 2024, organized by the Saudi Facilities Management Association, in Riyadh, under the slogan “Sustainable Future”, during the period from September 8-10, with the participation of more than 66 governmental and private entities and 50 expert speakers and specialists.
Al-Haqil said during his speech at the opening session of the conference: “Today we begin the activities of the International Conference on Facilities Management in the capital, Riyadh, which has become a global center for embracing and hosting the most important international conferences and gatherings, which enhances its position as a center for knowledge, exchange of experiences and attracting the best global practices in various sectors.”
His Excellency stressed that the conference seeks to discuss the fundamental issues facing the facilities management sector, as it is a vital element for the success of projects, infrastructure maintenance and asset sustainability, noting that the conference plays an important role in promoting local and international partnerships, applying the latest technologies and procedures to support the growth of this sector, and promoting the use of best practices and global standards.
Al-Haqil pointed out that the conference constitutes a leading platform for exchanging ideas and experiences, and building new partnerships that contribute to enhancing the development of the utilities sector by providing innovative solutions and pioneering ideas in utilities management, based on the Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build a vibrant society and a diversified and sustainable economy.
The Minister of Municipalities and Housing concluded his speech by thanking all the sponsors and supporters of the conference, expressing his appreciation for their efforts in making the event a success. He also expressed his hope that the conference's recommendations would contribute to achieving the aspirations of the wise leadership and meeting the hopes of those benefiting from facilities management services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, thus enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of this vital sector.
It is worth noting that the International Facilities Management Conference and Exhibition is the first of its kind in the region, as it aims to provide a unified global platform that brings together all parties from sectors, institutions, experts, academics and decision-makers, to exchange knowledge and experiences and discuss the latest developments and practices related to facilities management, as well as to come up with creative solutions that help to meet common challenges and enhance sustainability and efficiency, in a way that serves the goals and vision of Saudi Arabia 2030.
