Today, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing achieved a new milestone in the digital transformation of municipal services by reaching the level of "innovation" in the 2024 Digital Transformation Measurement Index launched by the Digital Government Authority. The announcement of this achievement came during the Digital Government Authority's current session on the sidelines of the Internet Governance Forum. This comes as a culmination of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts in the field of digital transformation, adopting emerging technologies and generative artificial intelligence through the activation of smart municipalities, and more than 555 electronic services used by more than 14 million users, in addition to raising the adoption of key services by the municipalities by 87% and raising the efficiency of supervisory work in commercial activities to 90% and 87% in construction activities. The Ministry also received the National Institutional Architecture Excellence Certificate, which embodies the Ministry’s efforts through the digital transformation journey by creating innovative business models that contribute to raising the quality of services provided to city residents. The Ministry, through its platforms (Baladi, Sakani, Furs, Mumtali), provided an easy experience for individuals and the business sector, represented by 123 million electronic transactions, with a customer satisfaction rate of 87%. The Baladi platform contributed to reducing visits to municipalities and headquarters from 15,000 visitors per month in 2023 to 7,000 in 2024. Regarding monitoring and improving the urban landscape, 37 elements of visual distortion were covered and reliance on the human element was reduced by 90%. The geographical coverage of the areas covered by monitoring to improve the urban landscape was increased to 95% by the end of last November. The services for honoring the deceased also received a certificate of excellence as one of the best government services, which contributes to easing the burdens on the relatives of the deceased in burial procedures, and facilitates their obtaining a burial certificate through more than 23 services in integration with 20 government agencies. These achievements are the result of the Ministry’s digital transformation efforts, through which it seeks to provide an integrated digital experience across all its platforms, with the aim of developing its digital services system and harnessing smart technologies to serve citizens and residents of cities, and to improve the system of services provided to them.
