The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, in collaboration with the Social Development Bank and the Saudi Council of Engineers, has launched the “Empowering Entrepreneurs in Engineering Offices” initiative. This initiative aims to support the sustainability of the engineering sector and promote entrepreneurial activities across the Kingdom, contributing to increased competitiveness and stimulating continuous growth in the local market.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to develop the engineering sector and empower its professionals, while also enhancing localization by providing a supportive and enabling environment for emerging engineering offices and Saudi engineers. It offers targeted support for engineers seeking to establish or expand their engineering offices through access to financing, training, and mentorship — thereby enhancing their capabilities and enabling them to enter the market with efficiency and long-term sustainability.

The initiative includes two main tracks. The first track offers developmental programs focused on empowering engineering projects through intensive training and consultations to ensure their readiness to obtain financing from the Social Development Bank. This track consists of three phases: registration, admission, and qualification and training.

The second track provides an opportunity for qualified entrepreneurial engineers to benefit from the financing products offered by the Social Development Bank, including the “Entrepreneurs Product,” which supports startup projects with financing of up to SAR 500,000, and the “Excellence Product,” which aims to support promising projects with financing of up to SAR 4 million.

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing affirmed that this joint cooperation reflects a commitment to supporting the engineering sector and attracting young Saudi talents, in line with the strategy of promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship through financial and non-financial solutions that support various productive sectors toward a more sustainable and prosperous future.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing is working on launching and implementing a number of initiatives aimed at supporting and empowering engineering office owners, contractors, and Saudi youth. These initiatives include facilitating procedures and offering specialized training programs in cooperation with public and private sector entities, as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to achieve one of the key objectives of Vision 2030 — to build a strong and sustainable real estate and engineering sector.
