Al-Haqil visits Taif and witnesses the inauguration of municipal and development projects to enhance quality of life and infrastructure.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, paid an official visit to Taif Governorate, which included a meeting with His Royal Highness the Governor of Taif, Prince Saud bin Nahar Al Saud, and a meeting with the leaders of the Secretariat, in addition to a meeting with citizens, businessmen and investors.

His Excellency began the visit by meeting with His Highness the Governor of Taif, where the most prominent development projects were reviewed and a number of agreements and partnerships were signed, including the development of Rahal Avenue and the operation of Al-Abbas, Al-Naseem and North Taif cemeteries, in addition to an agreement with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority and Qiyam Company to develop the customer experience, an agreement to establish Jabra Park, and an agreement to establish the municipal square, within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to promote urban development and improve the quality of life.

The visit witnessed the inauguration of three quality projects, most notably the Wadi Jalil Road project, which is the only road leading to the housing project and serves more than 6,600 residential plots, as it was developed to accommodate two lanes in each direction while enhancing traffic safety elements.

The field tour also included a visit to the Middle Ring Road project, which connects the center of Taif with Taif University and the new airport, and the new Taif Governorate Municipality building, which represents a modern architectural icon that contributes to improving the urban landscape and raising the efficiency of municipal work, in addition to the King Khalid Road intersection bridge project with Shihar Road to address traffic congestion.

Al-Haqil was briefed on the “City View” digital platform, which allows for monitoring municipal projects and improving their efficiency, in addition to attending the ceremony honoring donors within the “Jood” program. During the visit, twenty municipal and development initiatives were announced, to contribute to raising the level of services and enhancing the quality of life in the governorate.

The Minister of Municipalities and Housing affirmed that the ongoing and planned projects, such as the rainwater drainage network in Al-Wissam and linking the eastern university road to the Middle Ring Road, will enhance the infrastructure and support urban development in Taif, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, and contribute to revitalizing the tourist season and enhancing Taif’s position as a development and tourist destination.

His Excellency concluded the visit with an open meeting with citizens, businessmen and investors, where he listened to their suggestions and comments, stressing that the Ministry is committed to supporting balanced development in the various regions and governorates of the Kingdom.
