The Minister of Municipalities and Housing is in Beijing to discuss strengthening Saudi-Chinese partnerships in the fields of housing and urban development.

Today, during his official visit to the Chinese capital, Beijing, His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, discussed ways to enhance Saudi-Chinese partnerships in the fields of housing and urban development, within the framework of joint cooperation aimed at implementing 100,000 housing units by 2030, in the context of efforts aimed at supporting sustainable urban development and expanding the horizons of cooperation in the fields of infrastructure and smart cities, in a way that contributes to raising the housing supply and achieving real estate balance in the Kingdom.

The two-day visit includes bilateral meetings between His Excellency the Minister and a number of leaders of major Chinese companies, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the fields of industrial construction and modern construction technologies and the exchange of experiences, in order to accelerate the pace of implementation of housing projects and raise their operational efficiency.

The meetings will also explore ways to expand industrial and investment cooperation in the areas of urban development, supply chains, and industrial localization, in order to enhance the sustainability of the real estate market and generate new investment and industrial opportunities that support local content and provide direct and indirect job opportunities in the housing sector.

The visit will witness the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding between Byte Dance NHC Innovation A number of leading Chinese companies, to enhance partnership in the fields of real estate development, construction, smart city solutions, and artificial intelligence applications in municipal, residential and administrative services.

The visit will also witness, under the guidance and support of His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, the work of NHC To expand its international partnerships, particularly with leading Chinese companies, and to keep pace with the urban growth and major projects taking place in the Kingdom, the company will launch the " SupplyPro " initiative. “which aims to manage supply chains and hedge against fluctuations in construction material prices, to ensure that the private sector is not affected by rising construction costs, and to protect citizens from any additional costs when owning their homes and to ensure the interests of the public and private sectors, as this initiative also contributes to enhancing local content and localizing advanced technologies in a way that serves the development of the national industry to serve the citizens of the Kingdom.

This visit comes as an extension of the strategic cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People's Republic of China, which in 2023 witnessed the signing of 12 agreements worth more than $1.3 billion in the fields of infrastructure, finance and housing, in addition to a memorandum of understanding with the CITIC Group.
