Municipalities in various regions of the Kingdom called on commercial establishments and owners of investment contractsand those obligatedTo expedite the payment of outstanding financial dues, in order to avoid the legal procedures that are taken after fulfilling all the prescribed legal deadlines.
The municipalities explained that the payment process begins through the "Efaa" platform, where the violation notice is issued and the violator is notified, granting them a 60-day period to appeal and pay. If no appeal is filed or the appeal is rejected, a letter or notice (demand for payment) is issued specifying the amount due and requiring payment within 30 days of the claim date .
The secretariats confirmed that if non-payment continues after the expiry of that period, the request will be referred to the administrative enforcement platform, which will begin its procedures by issuing an enforcement order for payment within 30 days, and then issuing an order for disclosure and seizure of funds.
The secretariats clarified that commercial establishments have the rightThose required to submit an objection must do so within the legally mandated period (60 days).Before issuing the notice of claim for performance (30 days) and issuing the enforcement order , the Grievance Committee considers the request, studies it and ensures all its details before making the appropriate regulatory decision.
This step comes as part of the municipalities’ commitment to enhancing compliance with municipal regulations and ensuring improved efficiency in financial collection, which contributes to the development of municipal services and achieving financial sustainability for the municipal sector.
