As part of its efforts to empower national talent and enhance the efficiency of engineering professions in the municipal sector, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the Human Resources Development Agency, signed a memorandum of cooperation today with the Saudi Council of Engineers. This took place on the sidelines of the "Cityscape Global 2025" exhibition, which is being hosted by Riyadh from November 17 to 20, with broad local and international participation in the real estate development and engineering sectors. .

The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the areas of training and professional development for Saudi engineers and technicians, and to develop accredited training programs that meet the needs of the labor market in engineering and construction disciplines, thus contributing to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in localization and human capacity development. .

The memorandum includes joint work on preparing operational plans and training programs in the municipal sector, identifying priority engineering and technical professions for localization, in addition to holding periodic workshops in cooperation with the private sector and engineering offices to support applied training and raise the level of professional qualification of national cadres. .

The memorandum also includes developing performance indicators for training programs related to the municipal sector, building an updated database of training needs, and establishing a unified digital platform for managing programs and documenting their outputs, to ensure governance and transparency in implementation and follow-up. .

The memorandum stipulates that the Saudi Council of Engineers will develop the skills of trainees from the Ministry and the municipal sector, prepare executive plans and specialized programs, follow up on training results and submit periodic reports on outputs and recommendations, in addition to adopting professional standards that ensure the quality of training and professional accreditation. .

This memorandum comes within the framework of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing’s efforts to localize engineering professions and raise the efficiency of national cadres in various urban and municipal sectors, and to enhance institutional partnership with national professional bodies, in order to contribute to building a qualified human base capable of supporting the development process and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. .
