His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, met today with His Excellency the Minister of Economic Affairs, Education and Research of the Swiss Confederation, Mr. Guy Parmelin, as part of his official visit program to discuss enhancing cooperation in the fields of sustainable building, urban development and modern technologies.
During the meeting, areas of cooperation between the two sides were reviewed in sustainable housing policies, smart building, and urban development, in addition to discussing frameworks for exchanging experiences and building partnerships that support the Kingdom’s directions in raising the efficiency of the municipal and real estate sectors, and in a way that contributes to achieving the goals of urban development within the Saudi Vision 2030.
His Excellency also met with the President of the Swiss Federation of Construction Contractors, Mr. Gian-Luca Lardi, where the meeting discussed advanced construction fields and modern technologies, including prefabricated construction and digital transformation in the construction sector, within the framework of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing’s efforts to develop the urban environment and improve the quality of life in the Kingdom’s cities.
These meetings are part of His Excellency’s official visit to Switzerland, within the framework of ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and support the qualitative initiatives implemented by the Kingdom in the fields of urban development and sustainable housing, building more international partnerships, expanding cooperation and exchanging experiences to develop the efficiency of the real estate and municipal sectors, and enhancing its regional and international standing in the fields of sustainable urban development.
