The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has approved regulatory requirements for event and exhibition halls, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop the business environment, raise compliance levels with municipal regulations, and enhance investment attractiveness in the sector..
The ministry explained that the requirements include obtaining a municipal license, which includes submitting a valid commercial registration and obtaining Civil Defense approval, in addition to requiring that the halls' locations comply with planning regulations within or outside the urban area. The ministry explained that these requirements aim to regulate the activities of event halls and exhibitions designated for commercial, entertainment, or cultural use, according to clear technical, architectural, and operational standards, thereby contributing to raising the level of safety and efficiency, and improving the experience of investors and beneficiaries..
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing stressed the need to adhere to the urban building code or approved urban planning guidelines in the area where the activity is located, while also complying with fire prevention and protection requirements, installing surveillance cameras, and providing comprehensive accessibility for people with disabilities by equipping entrances, ramps, and parking spaces..
