His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Haqeel ,visitedthe Al-Ahsa Municipality and reviewed the municipality’s achievements and strategic plans, in the presence of the Secretary of Al-Ahsa, EngineerEssam bin Abdul Latif Al-Mulla.
Al-Haqil stressed that municipal projects represent a fundamental pillar in the development of cities, and contribute to improving the quality of life, raising the efficiency of urban infrastructure, and achieving sustainability, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
During the visit, the Secretariat reviewed a package of development and service projects, including initiatives to humanize cities, improve the urban landscape and quality of life, in addition to traffic solutions projects, flood drainage and rain hazard mitigation, and the development of customer services, within an integrated approach to sustainable urban planning, and keeping pace with urban expansion and population growth in the governorate.
His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing explained that the quality projects witnessed inAl-Ahsareflect an advanced awareness of the importance of integrated urban planning and the role of municipalities in transforming cities into attractive environments for living and investment, stressing the importance of raising the efficiency of implementation, ensuring the sustainability of projects, and accelerating the pace of completion in order to achieve the aspirations of the residents.
As part of strengthening partnerships with the private sector, His Excellency met with a number of investors in Al-Ahsa, during which they discussed partnership opportunities in urban development, ways to develop, and working to overcome the challenges facing investors, in order to enhance the attractiveness of the investment environment in the municipal sector.
As part of community partnership programs, His Excellency the Minister launched the Al Salam neighborhood park, which was implemented through a community partnership with the Abdulmonem Al Rashed Humanitarian Foundation, in a model that reflects the integration of roles between government agencies and the non-profit sector in developing public facilities and improving the quality of life.
His Excellency also conducted a field tour during which he reviewed the most prominent executive projects in the governorate, stressing the Ministry’s continued support for initiatives that promote comprehensive urban development and raise the level of municipal services in various regions of the Kingdom.
