Al-Haqil chairs the meeting of the Advisory Committee for Digital Innovation and Emerging Technology Solutions

The Advisory Committee for Digital Innovation and Emerging Technology Solutions held its first meeting, chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, and attended by its members, who are leaders of the Ministry and a number of entrepreneurs.

The committee discussed a number of technical, financial, legal and entrepreneurial aspects, and the application of the workshop outputs concerned with developing solutions and opportunities and presenting proposed initiatives in the municipal affairs and housing sector, in addition to considering the legislation and regulations of the municipal housing system, exploring opportunities for entrepreneurs, and aligning with the incubators for the pilot launch of opportunities.

The committee, which was recently formed under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Minister, aims to provide innovative solutions from entrepreneurs in the municipal and housing sectors, propose legislative and financial solutions that support the sector, and contribute to attracting investments from small and medium enterprises.

The committee’s work paths are summarized in the experimental environment lab for testing and building business solutions, which is a strategic path for ideas, technologies and models that require new legislation and financing solutions, the partnerships path that facilitates business for startups, in addition to the digital integration path to implement integrations with various digital platforms with the aim of developing the sector’s services and making the most of the ministry’s platforms.

This step comes within the framework of the Ministry’s keenness to employ modern digital technologies and systems in a way that contributes to improving the services provided to citizens and residents, enhancing quality of life standards in cities, and creating many investment opportunities with entrepreneurs in the fields of innovation and technology, with the aim of adopting modern technologies and employing them in the municipal and residential sectors to improve the services provided in Saudi cities to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
