His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, sponsored the night of honoring the major donors to the Jood Housing Platform, in a ceremony organized by the platform to honor the owners of charitable donations in the charitable housing sector from institutions and individuals participating in the “Your Goodness Has an Impact” campaign, which was held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Riyadh. It also witnessed the closure of 789 housing cases for the most needy families, within the framework of achieving the objectives of the housing program to reach a rate of 70% for home ownership in 2030.

The ceremony was attended by the Governor of the General Authority for Endowments, Emad bin Saleh Al-Kharashi, and a number of ministry leaders, headed by His Excellency the Deputy Minister, Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Budair, officials from the developmental housing sector, the Jood Housing platform, and a number of officials and major donors.

During the ceremony, the virtual Jood Al-Dhahabi scheme was launched, dedicated to the most needy families, with 489 plots distributed across 38 residential blocks. These plots were sold and their donations were fully closed within 30 minutes by major donors and charitable givers. Also during the ceremony, and under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister, an agreement was signed between the Jood Housing Platform, represented by His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Engineer Abdullah Al-Budair, and the General Authority for Endowments, represented by the Governor of the Authority, Emad Al-Kharashi. Under this agreement, the Authority will provide 300 housing units for the most needy families through the Jood Housing Platform. The ceremony also witnessed the honoring of major donors to the Jood Housing Platform who actively contributed with their donations and contributions to close the housing cases for the most needy families.

In his speech on this occasion, Al-Haqil stated that the launch of the Sakan Al-Ahliya Foundation and the Jood Housing Platform would not have been possible without the grace of God first, and then the generous support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince, in their endeavor and keenness – may God protect them – to achieve an effective contribution in cooperation with the generous Saudi society in all its categories to own homes for the most needy families.

His Excellency stressed that major donors are a cornerstone in the journey of enabling families to own their homes through a partnership that will extend – God willing – for the next five years to reach the target of enabling 60,000 of the most needy families to own their homes, noting that behind every donation there is a family whose worries are relieved and who enjoys owning their home.

His Excellency the Minister appreciated the contributions of all partners supporting the Jood platform, especially the Alwaleed Philanthropies Foundation, stressing the platform’s keenness to create diverse opportunities for major donors to contribute and to work continuously to provide housing products that meet the aspirations of families and those who give generously to charity, and to strengthen the partnership with major donors to create sustainability models and innovate incentive programs for effective partnerships to serve the charitable housing sector. In conclusion, His Excellency invited major donors to express their opinions, observations and suggestions that would develop charitable work in the housing sector, improve its initiatives and achieve its goals.

It is worth mentioning that these efforts come within the framework of the “Your Generosity Has an Impact” campaign launched by the Jood Housing platform at the beginning of the current month of Ramadan through various social media platforms, and included many activities that aimed to urge charitable donors to extend a helping hand to families seeking housing security, and to offer their charitable donations through the “Jood Housing” platform.
